These conditions govern access to Pennsylvania Criminal History. Browsing its content or submitting a search means that you accept all terms stated below. Do not continue to use the website if you disagree with them.

NO FCRA USE. Pennsylvania Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not provide a service for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or any other purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This is a public-record reference resource, not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of every government body. It neither stores official records nor has authority to retrieve a file, perform an official background check, or submit forms for a visitor.

Its role is to route readers to Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Public Website, Pennsylvania courts, and local agencies in 67 counties. It may also connect visitors with outside research tools. Official public access remains subject to the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law, Act 3 of 2008, court access policy, and the Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Information Act, 18 Pa.C.S. Chapter 91.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Use site content for employment, housing, credit, or insurance eligibility decisions
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass another person with information found here
  • Violate any applicable federal, Pennsylvania, or local law
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the site's systems or data
  • Deploy a scraper, bot, or other automated collection tool
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No person may use information from this website or a linked tool to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. Pennsylvania registry data is published for community safety, not vigilante conduct or unlawful discrimination. Misuse of information from the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Public Website can carry penalties.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Pennsylvania Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create a background check, credit report, or consumer report. Its partners are not presented as services for judging employment, rental, insurance, or credit eligibility. Information from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Approve, deny, or end employment
  • Evaluate an applicant for a rental or other housing
  • Set insurance terms or assess credit
  • Decide eligibility for a license, benefit, or government program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated decision

A lawful screening need must be handled through Pennsylvania State Police or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA and all applicable law.

5. No Legal Advice

General information about Pennsylvania records is not legal advice. Only a licensed Pennsylvania attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, expungement, or limited-access rule applies to a particular set of facts.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are provided "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • A partner's search result will be accurate or complete
  • Every page will be current, correct, and comprehensive
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • The website will contain no defect or security vulnerability

Pennsylvania records can change when a charge is filed, dismissed, limited from access, corrected, or expunged. Delays and gaps are possible. Website content is never an official statement from PSP, a court, sheriff, police agency, or corrections office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

A link may open a Pennsylvania agency, court portal, county office, legal organization, or independent search service. We do not manage those destinations and accept no responsibility for their content, availability, fees, or data practices. Their own terms govern use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, graphics, and logos belong to Pennsylvania Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create a derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for a loss or damage arising from website use, including reliance on information from a page or linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the website or breach of these terms, including related legal costs and fees.
